My name is Na’veh Matthews. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in Literature from Oakwood University and received a Master of Arts in English with a concentration in Literature at Auburn University.
I have 3 years of teaching experience, with 2 of those at Auburn, assisting two World Literature Before 1600 courses in my first year, and leading two Freshman Composition courses in my second year, and while attending Auburn, I strengthened my teaching ability, developed my teaching philosophy, and equipped my students with practical information and methods that will assist them in their future endeavors. My educational experience in teaching settings began during my undergraduate studies, where I worked as a Teaching Assistant for an English Research course before transitioning to Early Education with 1- to 2-year-olds. Through my graduate school experience, I have had the privilege of serving as a reader for Southern Humanities Review and working as a writer and editor for Message Magazine, polishing my analytical and editorial skills. You can find out more about my journey in my reflective essay.
