My teaching career began in Early Education, where I learned structural methods and engagement. Now, as a college instructor, I have learned more about the art and strategy of teaching and the type of teacher I aspire to be. In a collegiate setting, my goal has been to create an environment that encourages reciprocal learning— understanding that learning comes from me as much as it comes from them. It increases comfort with engaging and receiving information.

In my class, we explore rhetoric, and in our discussions, we highlight analyzing context. This way, the importance of gathering as much information as possible and searching carefully for details that would not otherwise be considered create an in-depth evaluation of the rhetorical situation.

This approach enables them to seek these ideas in their rhetorical situations. As I continue to teach, I wish to build my teaching philosophy and pedagogy.
